Kaspersky Anti-Virus Lite Installation Instructions
Please read the following instruction before installing Kaspersky
Anti-Virus Lite.
Installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus Lite for the first time
1. Click on 'Install
Kaspersky Anti-Virus Lite'. When prompted, choose 'Run this
file from its current location' and follow the prompts.
2. During the installation process you will be
asked for the Key File. Click Add, then locate the Key File (0004F484.key)
from the CD ([CD-Rom]:\software\virus\kav\files)
and select Open.
3. When you return to Kaspersky Anti-Virus Lite's
installation program, hit Next and follow the prompts to complete
the installation.
Keeping your Kaspersky Anti-Virus Lite active
You do not need to reinstall Kaspersky Anti-Virus
Lite each month. When you purchase PC User each
month, you will find a new Key File to install that will keep your
program active for another month.
1. Click on 'Download
Key file'. When prompted, choose 'Save'.
2. Save the Key file to the directory C:\Program
Files\Common Files\KAV Shared Files\.
3. Reboot your system. This will enable the program
to work in fully-functional mode for another 30 days.
Keep your virus definition up to date
To keep your antivirus program up to date, you can download free
virus updates as often as you like from the Kaspersky Web site at
http://www.kaspersky.com/updates.html
or download the latest cumulative update from the PC User
cover CDs each month (select Update bases via CD-ROM with disk 1
in your CD-ROM drive. This cumulative update is for March 2003).
If you miss out on the next issue of PC User, Kaspersky
Anti-Virus Lite will automatically switch to demo mode and some
features (like virus disinfection, search in archived and compressed
files, heuristic scanning) will be disabled until a valid Key File
is installed. |
